Do you want to improve grid‑connection and plant control systems across the Italian market with an international team?

Vestas Mediterranean "Grid Solutions" is an international department designing and managing grid‑connection, compliance, and control systems across the full project lifecycle — from Development to Sales, Construction, and Service — in the Mediterranean region (Southern & Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East).

You'll collaborate closely with professionals across Spain, Italy, and other countries in the region, in a dynamic multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will:
  • Monitor and interpret grid‑connection codes and liaise with system operators (Terna) in Italy.
  • Provide grid‑related market insights to Vestas R&D to ensure compliance and competitiveness of plant offerings.
  • Support the Sales department during contract negotiations and bid definitions, ensuring alignment with applicable electrical and grid standards.
  • Participate in a team‑selling approach, adding value to each project and adapting to different customer profiles.
  • Review customer tender documents and mitigate technical risks on a project‑specific basis.
  • Drive value engineering initiatives and business case optimization for grid plant solutions.
  • Prepare contractual annexes related to grid and plant control.
  • Offer technical support during project execution and commissioning, including plant control design, implementation, and testing.
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers, contractors, grid operators, and utilities regarding wind power plant performance and grid integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in grid connection for renewable energy, preferably in wind power or at system operators (e.g., Terna).
  • Knowledge of wind power technology (electrical design and control of WTGs and PPC).
  • Understanding of Terna grid connection code requirements (e.g., A17, A18) and substation design.
  • Familiarity with HV/MV equipment, power system stability and control, and electrical simulation tools (PowerFactory, PSCAD; IEC generic models are a plus).
  • Knowledge of the Italian energy market is an advantage.
  • Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Competencies

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence when interacting with external stakeholders (customers, grid operators, conferences).
  • Ability to summarize technical topics for non‑technical stakeholders and present them clearly.
  • Structured, organized, and adaptable in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and creativity to meet customer needs.
  • Team‑oriented approach with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary + bonus scheme.
  • Medical and life insurance.
  • Meal vouchers.
  • An opportunity to grow in a leading multinational pursuing the vision of being the global leader in sustainable energy solutions.
  • A dynamic and multicultural team of skilled professionals passionate about wind energy and grid integration.
  • Career development opportunities across Sales, R&D, and other areas of the company.
