Position Summary:
KBR is seeking an Aerospace Materials and Processes Engineering Manager to support our SPACE SUIT DESIGN TEAM for KBR's Science and Space division.
The Aerospace Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineering Manager will be responsible to lead a multidisciplinary team focused on the development, qualification, and support of materials and manufacturing processes for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in aerospace materials, a passion for innovation, and a strong leadership background to guide the team through complex projects supporting design, production, and sustainment efforts.

Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Years of Experience: 8+ years of experience in aerospace materials and processes engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with aerospace project lifecycles

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical management experience
- System development lifecycle knowledge/experience
- Knowledge of engineering standards and specifications, as well as engineering drawing standards, and specifications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to operate with situational awareness, and to be diplomatic in critical situations
- The ability to demonstrate leadership experience on projects, technical and otherwise
- The ability to demonstrate project monitoring and resource prioritization
- The ability to interact across organizations and all levels of personnel
- The ability to train others on materials, manufacturing procedures, product specifications and properties, and testing
- Candidate must be effective at handling multiple tasks, flexible, and can respond quickly to changes, as well as the ability to manage manpower, priorities, and customer requirements
- Candidate must have the ability to tactfully handle customer(s) (internal and external), as well as personnel issues
- Candidate must be able to handle/control sensitive data (personnel, company, etc.)
- Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment and work assignments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace materials (metals, polymers, composites, coatings) and manufacturing processes (heat treatment, welding, bonding, surface treatments, etc.).
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems, materials testing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with failure analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, DFMEA, root cause analysis).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
