Senior Designer - End Fitting R&D
About the Role
As a Designer - End Fitting R&D, you will play a key role in developing, enhancing, and consolidating cutting-edge solutions for flexible pipe end-fittings. This role sits within the Engineering & Technology and New Product Development. You will be the primary point of contact for ERD on assigned projects, reporting to the Head of End Fitting Research & Development and collaborate cross-functionally with global teams, test facilities, and factories. Your work will directly support NOV's leadership in offshore oil and gas and emerging sustainable energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities
As part of our End Fitting Research and Development department, you will take part in a range of tasks, where you can leverage your skills as a designer to succeed. These tasks include:
- Design of new and innovative components and cutting edge End Fitting solutions within R&D projects
- Supporting engineers in generating new concepts and drive technology development
- Create calculation files in Python
- Participate in FMEAs to capture technology risks and define qualification programs
- Create and check documentation for the End Fitting Mounting Department
- Participate in test activities, dissections of test End Fittings and field samples, and root cause analyses
- Collaborate closely with our End Fitting Supply team, providing R&D support during tendering and on commercial projects
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, Trained Technical Designer or equivalent background
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, within R&D, working with development and qualification of advanced products and technology
- Skilled user in 2D and 3D modeling
- Proven ability to plan and lead test programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Natural drive for engineering excellence
- Commitment to HSE practices
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in offshore oil & gas equipment engineering
- Skilled user of CREO 2D and 3D modeling
- Skilled user of Python
- Accustomed to working within a matrix organization
- Enjoyment of team collaboration and social engagement
