For more than 40 years, our advanced facilities in Singapore have led aerospace innovation across Asia Pacific. From automating processes to leveraging smart factory technologies, robotics, and additive manufacturing, GE Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS).

GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:

As a facilities intern, you will be involved in the technical groundwork for key environmental projects aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of our operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to developing systems that measure and improve energy, water, and material usage at the machine level, while also supporting solar energy tracking, waste reduction, and sustainability reporting efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

Assist in setting up a Renewable Energy Credits (REC) framework to support solar energy tracking by 2026.

Support data collection and analysis to map environmental impact at the machine level (e.g. electricity, water, gas, consumables).

Contribute to baseline studies for Scope 3 emissions (focus on purchased goods like consumables and packaging).

Conduct audits and identify opportunities for reducing food waste, general waste, and recyclables through technologies like composting or smart bins.

Help analyze site-wide electricity consumption to identify high-usage equipment and recommend energy-saving improvements.

Document and help standardize procedures for data collection to support ISO 50001 certification renewal.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a mechanical or electrical engineering student (or recent graduate) who is passionate about sustainability and eager to apply technical knowledge to real-world environmental challenges in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

Strong interest in sustainability, energy management, and environmental systems.

Basic understanding of industrial equipment and facility operations.

Comfortable working with data (e.g. energy usage, material flows) and able to perform basic analysis using Excel or similar tools.

Willingness to conduct site-level audits and engage with various teams to gather information.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Familiarity with ISO 50001 or sustainability frameworks is a plus, but not required.
