Job Description
Promote and support a culture of high-level technical expertise and standards within the insurance Renewable Energy environment (internally and externally).
Maintain, develop and apply a personal level of knowledge and technical expertise to enhance the credibility of the Crawford proposition and product and maintain and develop a market leading reputation for technical excellence.
To support / handle complex offshore renewable energy claims arising through the London Market and internationally.
Work both externally and internally assessing major claims and adjusting where appropriate.
Utilising technical expertise in renewable energy systems to develop solutions to client and market challenges in both claims and risk.
Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing final and other reports.
Assisting in the development of reports (claims and risk engineering) and assisting overseas colleagues in handling and reporting of renewable energy claims.
Assisting in the development and delivery of white papers for the market as well as review of new and emerging technologies in relation to the handling of energy claims and risk matters.
Willingness and commitment to attain CILA and other accredited insurance industry qualifications.
Responsibilities
Act as technical lead alongside Technical Director on Renewables claims and surveys.
Maintain & develop strong and sustainable relationships with existing and new clients, based on the delivery of 'Technical Excellence' and a good understanding of client's needs.
Support the Global Renewable Energy initiatives and objectives.
Preparing reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim, including technical aspects, policy analysis and liability, quantum and future actions.
Visiting sites - claims & risk engineering.
Instructing and controlling experts both internally and externally such as engineers, risk consultants, forensic scientists and lawyers.
Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communication.
Additionally developing working relationships with existing clients and helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients.
Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or awareness of FCA procedures and the TCF initiative.
Identifying and developing business opportunities for self and team.
Actively seek to develop oneself and take responsibility for your own training and development.
Qualifications
Engineering qualification (Degree / HND / equivalent) or suitable demonstrable experience.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Reputation for 'Technical Excellence' within the Renewable Energy sector.
Industry relevant qualifications.
Strong technical background.
Good understanding of the Energy Markets.
Experience of delivering renewable energy risk advisory and / or consulting services with a particular focus on offshore wind.
Have experience of the renewable energy sector technologies both existing and emerging markets.
Comprehensive knowledge of research and trends in renewable energy and sustainable development.
Strong team working and collaboration.
