JOB PURPOSE:
JOB PURPOSE:
Plan, control and direct the Marine Services divisional activities. Issue and update marine procedures and implement them. Provide specialist advices to SVPO and DMOs in respect of all marine related issues and to establish and monitor maintenance plans for all marine or marine related equipment. Interface with all parties on marine related issues, including, ministries, contracting organisations, and classification bodies.

Job Specific Accountabilities
Plan, control and direct all the activities of Marine Services Department Staff.
Ensure that the location approval process is executed as per ADNOC Drilling standard procedure.
Obtains or receives manuals, updates and other publications relative to introduction of new or amendment of existing regulations from world-wide organizations. These organizations establish the design, safety and other associated rules governing the safe operation of mobile offshore drilling units (MODU). Interprets such manuals as they affect ADNOC Drilling and in order that appropriate modifications can be made to ADNOC Drilling rigs. Also included is the Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) manual together with other relative to marine pollution (MARPOL).
Establishes plans for all classification related surveys, inspections and repairs for the offshore fleet. Tracks forthcoming surveys and issues explicit directives for preparatory work and follows up the implementation of the work in order that the rig will retain its class. Identifies the work necessary from knowledge of the inspection together with knowledge of the areas of the vessel assessed in the classification process.
Represents the organization at meetings held with clients, government ministries and other official bodies engaged in ensuring that Abu Dhabi registered vessels comply with the laws and conditions agreed to by the federal government. Makes written and personal representation to the organizations to prove the compliance, by ADNOC Drilling and its rigs, with the necessary rules in order that the rig is recognized as being ready to and capable of operating at any location in the world.
Establishes budgetary facilities for rig related repair and modification work necessary to retain classification. Projects costs and participates in the technical review if tenders received, providing the technical input necessary to technically evaluate the bids. Follows up on all hull related and marine repairs to ensure such as the use of correct materials and thereby the integrity of the rig.
Education
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
B.Sc. in Engineering discipline preferably Petroleum, Marine or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus Masters (Unlimited) or (F.G.)
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
15 years' diversified experience including 5 years in the capacity of Senior Barge Captain/Engineer or Marine Specialist.
Solid experience in complex rig moves and thorough knowledge of related marine procedures.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Excellent computer knowledge.
Professional Certifications
Certificate of Competency in marine studies, achieved after a fixed period (6 years) at sea.
