Cost Control Team Lead

Under the authority of the Cost Control Team Leader for M&M - NAM, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the operational activities of the Cost Control team outside of Quebec (M&M - NAM), which currently consists of approximately six employees. You will collaborate on Mining and Metals projects throughout Quebec, other Canadian provinces, and internationally. The team members are primarily based in our Toronto and Calgary offices.

Your role within the team

As a member of the Cost Control team, you will report to the Cost Control Team Lead, M&M - NAM and be responsible for:
  • Manage a team of professionals and implement methods and procedures in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Ensure the standardization of our work methods with the Quebec team by working closely with the Cost Control Team Leader for M&M_NAM.
  • Actively contributes to employee development to maintain and grow a center of expertise in cost control.
  • Plan staff allocation.
  • Set and manage team objectives and ensure employee accountability.
  • Maintain a high level of competency through training, mentoring, and recruiting qualified personnel based on project needs.
  • Foster a work environment that supports ethical and professional practices in project execution.
  • Participate in the preparation of service proposals.
  • Be involved in various projects as a director, project manager, or project controller.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and compliance with the scope of services, deliverables, budgets, and schedules for your projects.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary efforts and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Write reports and technical opinions as required by project objectives.

Qualifications for the position
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant training with equivalent experience.
  • Additional training in management (MBA) is an asset.
  • Between 8 to 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in managing/coordinating technical teams.
  • Experience in managing service proposal processes and business development is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Recognized for your inspiring leadership and excellent interpersonal skills, while ensuring high levels of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
