Company Background Our client is a multinational organization that distributes a wide portfolio of polymer raw materials—including polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, PVC, engineering plastics (ABS, PA, PC, TPE, POM, PBT), and polystyrene—with over 500 product codes in stock and direct deliveries via its own logistics fleet. We are pleased to be leading the search for an Assistant Sales Manager position. . Role Purpose Support the Sales Manager by strengthening relationships with existing customers and developing new business in the plastics sector. This role helps plan and deliver sales activity, contributes to forecasting, and ensures customer satisfaction in alignment with company's core values. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and maintaining long-term B2B relationships with current and prospective customers in the plastics and elastomers industry. Collaborate with suppliers—both commercial and technical—to facilitate seamless information exchange and product support. Support preparation and delivery of monthly sales and revenue reports, project updates, and realistic forecasts to senior management. Monitor customer credit status in coordination with the finance/credit department. Contribute to product and market development efforts (e.g. identifying new segments, applications, or potential suppliers). Work closely with the sales team in Malaysia; travel to Johor as and when required. Participate in team initiatives and take personal ownership of assigned targets and responsibilities. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline. Experience: At least 2 years of B2B sales experience within the plastics, polymer, or chemical distribution sector. Technical: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Language: Fluent in English (verbal and written); other languages a plus. Other: Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally.
