We are looking for an experienced Floating System and Structural Engineer to join one of our projects in onshore Angola.

Floating Systems Engineer

The Floating Systems Engineer provides technical expertise for offshore floating assets, supporting maintenance, inspection, anomaly management, and brownfield/greenfield projects. The role also involves proactive collaboration across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions for risk management, operational efficiency, and asset integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Integrity Management
• Manage integrity of regional floating assets as part of the Azule Integrity Management (IM) team to deliver the company's safety and business goals. This includes but not limited to defining and managing inspection and maintenance regime for floating systems, mooring, and topside structures.
• Responsible for review the compliance to the relevant Azule Performance Standards.
• Develop and implement floating systems and structural integrity management plans.
• Monitor asset condition through inspection, monitoring, and maintenance strategies.
• Handle significant deterioration through anomaly management processes.

Risk Management
• Identify, control, and manage floating systems risks across operations, including metocean engineering risks.
• Quantify risks and communicate effectively to stakeholders.
• Report significant deterioration through company dashboards and risk tools.
• Conduct simplified structural and lifting assessments.
• Support repair scopes and contractor management.
• Monitor assets' performance via Integrity Marine Monitoring Systems (IMMS).

Technical Skills and Leadership
• Define floating systems engineering scope for brownfield/greenfield projects.
• Provide technical assurance for third-party engineering deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with Azule engineering practices, industry codes, technical practices, and Performance Standards.
• Ability to carry out simplified structural assessments in relation to repair of ship structures and where required, to prepare and manage detailed scopes for engagement of specialised contractors.
• Assess impact of load changes and metocean conditions on asset integrity.
• Approve platform weight changes per company stability policies.

Collaboration & Development
• Support agile working methodologies.
• Maintain relationships with third-party providers and contractors.
• Contribute to floating systems team knowledge sharing.
• Support junior engineer development.

Essential Requirements

Education & Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or related field.
• Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) or Professional Engineer (PE) status, or demonstrable progression toward certification.

Experience
• 10+ years relevant experience.
• Experience with Classification Societies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and English and preferably in Portugese.

General Requirements
• Proven industry experience in offshore floating structures design, construction, installation, or integrity management.

Education:
• Master's degree in engineering (Civil/Structural, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or related).

Technical Expertise:
• Offshore floating structures design, construction, installation, or integrity management.
• Strong skill in ship motion analysis, intact and damage Stability, hull structural and mooring system design analyses including Risk Based Inspection applied to FPSO hull and topside structures.
• Classification rules (ABS, DNV, BV) and international standards.
• Risk-based inspection for FPSO hull and topside structures.
• Process design, process safety, and O&G operations.

Professional Skills:
• Project delivery with minimal supervision.
• Senior leadership engagement and influence.
• Complex project management within cost/time constraints.
• Commercial floating asset support (survey, refit, repair, acceptance).
• Technical documentation and specification writing.
• Stakeholder engagement.
• Fluent English (written and oral).
