Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specialist Chemist to join our petroleum laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical analyses of crude oil, petroleum products, lubricants, chemicals, drinking and industrial water to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing on crude oil, refined products, lubricants, and additives using ASTM and ISO methods and other methods.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as gas chromatographs, spectrometers, viscometers, and flash point testers, etc.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports.
Ensure all testing procedures comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment regularly.
Maintain accurate records of all tests and results in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
Assist in the development and validation of new testing methods.
Prepare a quality Assurance program and the requirements of ISO 17025:2017 for a petroleum laboratory.
Prepare a cafety rrpnudl for all laboratory activities.
Participate in the on-the-job training program for the laboratory staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (Master's preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in an accredited petroleum laboratory.
- Strong knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and other relevant testing standards.
Proficiency in laboratory software and data analysis tools,
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Certifications:
ISO 17025 Laboratory Competency as an internal auditor.
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) for the laboratory.
Lab quality assurance.
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint certificate.
