Bilfinger UK are looking for welders to join us on Hinkley Point C on our HIC project. Thes positions are perment roles based on site on a 10 day on 4 day off rotation, 10 hour days
We are seeking skilled and motivated Welders to join our team, working to the requirements of EN ISO 9606-1 and ISO 14732. The scope of work includes execution of high-quality welds using processes 141 (TIG), 141-M (Orbital TIG with mechanisation), and 111 (MMA). The role will involve both manual and mechanised/orbital welding activities on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework in all positions.
This position requires experienced welders who can deliver work to the highest quality standards, while demonstrating adaptability and willingness to undergo further specialist training in narrow-gap manual welding and twin-camera orbital welding systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks in accordance with EN ISO 9606-1 and ISO 14732 approval requirements.
- Carry out manual TIG (141) root welding on pipe joints in both carbon steel and stainless steel.
- Operate mechanised orbital TIG (141-M) narrow-gap welding systems equipped with twin-camera monitoring.
- Perform MMA (111) welding for pipe in all positions, including difficult orientations.
- Ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and relevant project quality standards.
- Participate in and pass required welder qualification tests (WPQ).
- Maintain weld quality through adherence to inspection and acceptance criteria, including visual, radiographic, and ultrasonic testing requirements.
- Work safely and maintain compliance with site HSE rules and company procedures.
- Participate in specialist training programs to gain competence in narrow-gap manual welding and twin-camera orbital welding.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness, discipline, and professionalism in accordance with nuclear industry standards (where applicable).
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in manual pipe welding using 141 (TIG) and 111 (MMA) on carbon steel and stainless steel in all positions.
- Practical experience in mechanised/orbital TIG welding (141-M), ideally with narrow-gap applications (training will be provided if not already held).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, WPS, and weld maps accurately.
- Strong understanding of welding quality requirements, including defect prevention and repair criteria.
- Capability to work under pressure in a highly regulated environment.
- Commitment to continuous development and ability to adapt to new welding technologies and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' verified experience as a Welder in a relevant industrial environment (e.g., nuclear, oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical, heavy engineering).
- Competency and qualification in at least one of the following routes:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication discipline, or
- Welding Apprenticeship or equivalent in a recognised welding discipline, or
- Minimum Level 5 qualification if apprenticeship/qualification awarded in Scotland, or
- ACE Card in Welding Pipe or Plate.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to undertake specialist training in narrow-gap manual welding and twin-camera orbital welding systems.
- Ability to pass site medical, drug and alcohol screening, and security clearance (where required).
- Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and weekend work as project requirements dictate.
Desirable
- Previous experience in nuclear, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of RCC-M or EN project specifications.
- Experience with welding parameter recording and traceability systems
