About the Role
You'll manage the utility interconnection process from application to Permission to Operate (PTO), coordinating with customers, multiple utilities, and internal teams. Accuracy, problem-solving, and proactive communication are key to success in this role.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and submit complete interconnection applications, ensuring accuracy and inclusion of required documents (Electrical Single Line Diagram, Site Plan, Parcel Maps, Authorization Forms, Leases for aggregation)
- Track each application through to PTO, maintaining all correspondence with utility interconnection teams
- Make corrections or updates to applications and plans for utility approval
- Provide weekly status reports on all jobs in process
- Coordinate timelines between customers, utility providers, and construction teams to ensure smooth handoffs
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to accelerate interconnection timelines
- Maintain strong relationships with utility representatives to resolve issues quickly
- Support related permitting or project needs when workload allows, contributing to the overall success of the team
Minimum Requirements
- Utility interconnection experience: 2+ years (required)
- Strong attention to detail; adaptable to changing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to team success over individual recognition
- Clean DMV record & clean criminal record
- High School Diploma or GED
Strongly Preferred
- Previous experience in permitting and/or interconnections
- Ability to bring multiple skill sets beyond interconnection tasks
- Knowledge of the alternative energy industry
- High level of organization and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to work across departments
- Proficiency in Excel and CRM software
