This Position reports to:
Portfolio Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Manager of Product Regulatory Affairs at our New Berlin, WI location, you will play a pivotal role within the product management team for Motion Drive Products. You will hold local (US) responsibility for ensuring product and system level compliance for Product Group Drive Products and Business Line Drives.

In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining product and system level compliance, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met to facilitate global market access, protect our brand, and ensure consumer safety. You will actively participate in and influence standards development, ensuring that ABB products remain compliant with evolving standards. Additionally, you will ensure that ABB is properly represented in external organizations, including standards development committees and cross-functional teams. This position provides leadership for regulatory compliance across ABB's drive product portfolio.

This role reports directly to the Manager of Product Operations.

The work model for the role is hybrid from our New Belin, WI facility. #LI-Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Oversee key regulatory focus areas for U.S. Low voltage drives and PLC controller
  • Organize quarterly information sessions on new developments.
  • Serve as an influencer and voting member in UL, NEC, and NEMA standards groups.
  • Monitor strategic CSA committees closely.
  • Assist internal and external UL 508A certified panel shops.
  • Provide guidance to internal and external customers on relevant standards and codes.
  • Lead or participate in UL projects to ensure ABB products comply with standards changes.
  • Monitor and understand complex regulatory and market drivers affecting product lines.
  • Support product management and engineering departments with compliance-related inquiries.
  • Influence business groups across the organization to integrate regulatory and certification requirements into both legacy and new product designs
  • Develop and present compliance-related webinars to internal and external audiences.


Qualifications for the role:
  • Technical Master's degree and 8+ years of experience in a complex business environment OR Technical Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in a complex business environment OR Technical Associate's degree and 12+ years of experience in a complex business environment.
  • Extensive experience in product and system-level engineering, compliance, and regulatory requirements for low voltage drive and control systems.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking.
  • You are at ease communicating regulatory and certification requirements across the organization.
  • Travel up to 15%.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
