Weatherford are seeking a results-driven and technically proficient Technical Sales Manager to lead the technical sales and business development of our digital product portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector, North America. This role combines deep industry knowledge with strong technical understanding of digital technologies—such as data platforms, analytics, automation, IoT/IIoT, cloud, and edge solutions—to deliver value-based solutions to our clients.
You and your team will be responsible for driving revenue growth through direct client engagement, solution positioning, conducting product demos and proposal development across upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.

Weatherford are seeking a results-driven and technically proficient Technical Sales Manager to lead the technical sales and business development of our digital product portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector, North America. This role combines deep industry knowledge with strong technical understanding of digital technologies—such as data platforms, analytics, automation, IoT/IIoT, cloud, and edge solutions—to deliver value-based solutions to our clients.
You and your team will be responsible for driving revenue growth through direct client engagement, solution positioning, conducting product demos and proposal development across upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Sales Reps, Account Managers and Technical Sales SMEs who would be responsible for lead generation and progressing opportunities through to close.
- Sales Pipeline Management via the use of CRM platforms (i.e SalesForce).
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to help progress leads through contract closure for digital software and hardware products and technology services.
- Understand customer challenges in production, asset integrity, operations, and optimization—and position the company's digital solutions to address these needs.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and technical stakeholders.
- Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and demos in collaboration with technical and product management teams.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and marketing to relay market feedback and influence roadmap priorities.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and client events.
Skills:
- Experience with digital twins, edge computing, or AI/ML applications in oil and gas.
- Familiarity with common industry platforms (e.g., OSIsoft PI, CygNet, Ignition, AVEVA, AspenTech, etc.).
- Strong customer-centric mindset and a consultative sales approach.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of sales experience in oil and gas, with at least 3 years in digital technologies or industrial software.
- Deep knowledge of the Oil & Gas value chain and operational workflows (e.g., production, SCADA, analytics, asset performance).
- Strong understanding of digital tools such as cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data management systems, predictive analytics, and industrial automation.
- Proven success in technical sales, solution selling, and value-based selling approaches.
- Well versed in CRM platforms like Salesforce.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic travel).
