Job Overview: The Nuclear Cardiology Technologist plays a vital role in performing routine and specialized nuclear cardiology examinations under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations and attending cardiologists. This role supports the daily clinical operations and adheres to PRACTICE guidelines, policies, and standards of care.Education & Certification Requirements:
High School Diploma (required).
Completion of an AMA-approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Certification by ARRT and/or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine Technology (valid and up-to-date).
Physical and mental capacity to meet job demands.
Commitment to continuing education in nuclear medicine.
Engagement in professional development through PRACTICE resources and external educational institutions.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate nuclear medicine and related equipment to produce diagnostic cardiology scans
Prepare patients and assist cardiologists during procedures.
Administer radiopharmaceuticals via IV routes per departmental protocols.
Ensure patient safety during transfers and positioning.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Select appropriate equipment and settings for optimal imaging quality.
Participate in image critique and in-service training sessions.
Respond promptly and courteously to calls and pages.
Support emergency response efforts as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or cardiologists.Key Skills & Attributes:
Strong technical proficiency in nuclear cardiology imaging.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
