The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Monitor, maintain, and control the operation of wastewater treatment processes and related equipment; 2) Interpret specifications and shop manuals to diagnose and repair water treatment plant equipment; 3) Run routine operational wastewater tests to verify compliance with state and federal regulations; 4) Maintain all necessary records of operation and maintenance data.

Must have a current and valid State of Texas Class "B" Wastewater Treatment Facility License and a Class "D" Public Water System Operator License. Certifications must be documented in your resume and attached to your application package.

Physical Effort:
Work requires walking and standing on concrete floors; climbing stairways and ladders, frequently unloading, stacking or emptying of chemicals and compounds into feeders and tanks; turning of valves and controls; and frequent handling of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Incumbent is required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crouch, kneel and climb substantial periods of time. Incumbent uses hands, arms, feet, and legs while operating motor vehicle.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside and outside, during day and night in all kinds of weather. Worker is exposed to various hazards such as noise, unpleasant odors, gases, fumes, hazardous materials, biological hazards, chemicals, moving objects, and sharp edges. There is danger of skin injury and infection while performing duties. Work assignments involve thorough knowledge of hazardous materials handling and related activities. Incumbent is required to successfully complete a variety of hazardous material classes. There is danger of falling into open tanks, pits, manholes, etc., falling off catwalks, and ladders; and exposure to mechanical injury while inspecting, checking and repairing moving and rotating equipment. Cuts, bruises and broken bones may result form accidents while working around machinery or while climbing equipment. Position is required to work in confined spaces and must observe all safety requirements for confined spaces.
A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

- You will follow prescribed regulations concerning reading meters and gauges to maintain efficient wastewater treatment processes.
- You will analyze malfunctions of a sewage water treatment plant or associated conveyance systems to identify immediate corrective action.
- You will record readings of meters and gauges of equipment and process units through observation and testing of plant operations.
- You will maintain optimum chemical dosages to a potable water system.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
