- Lead the creation and development of a new HVAC Service Department
- Build strong customer relationships and actively support business development efforts
- Hire, train, and manage HVAC service technicians and apprentices
- Provide ongoing technical support, coaching, and professional development
- Coordinate daily assignments, prioritize urgent warranty issues, and manage workload distribution
- Help estimate and bid HVAC repair/replacement projects and preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain accountability for job quality, safety compliance, and schedule adherence
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated service issues and client concerns
- Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with code requirements, design specs, and system performance
- Lead commissioning efforts to verify system performance per design
- Collaborate with the construction team to improve install quality, ensure proper start-up, and reduce callbacks
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting (e.g., JSA's, service tickets, warranty reports)
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure proper PPE usage and incident reporting
- Identify and implement operational improvements and risk mitigation strategies
- Demonstrate a growth mindset, humility, and integrity; take feedback and turn it into personal and team improvement
- 7+ years in the HVAC trade, with 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Experience in commercial and multi-family HVAC systems, including VRF/VRV and start-ups
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in estimating and bidding HVAC repair/replacement and maintenance work
- Demonstrated ability to build teams, develop technicians, and grow a department
- Ability to bridge service and construction teams to improve performance and code compliance
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and ensuring system performance per design
- EPA Universal Certification
- NATE, ICC, and OSHA 30 certifications (preferred)
- Proficient in interpreting service tickets, startup documents, and manufacturer specs
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Willingness to perform field visits and support technicians as needed
- Must have valid driver's license, clean MVR, dependable transportation
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical & drug screening, and be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; climb or balance; stand; walk; lift or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds; work overhead and in cramped quarters. Good vision required.
