Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer for immediate hire in Austin, TX. Qualified candidates should have a robust career in water and wastewater engineering, with experience in designing and managing projects for municipalities throughout Central Texas, including the City of Austin and other local agencies. This role involves leading a Water/Wastewater team and utilizing technical expertise for planning, analysis, and design of water and wastewater projects in markets including San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage technical work and projects related to water and wastewater treatment plants, distribution and collection systems, pump stations, and lift stations.
• Establish project sequencing, create the project WBS system, and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring both technical and financial success.
• Coordinate multiple projects concurrently, working effectively with project team members, clients, sub-consultants, and staff.
• Oversee water quality control systems, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure rehabilitation.
• Train and lead engineers and technical staff to meet project goals on time and within budget.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and permits for preliminary and final designs.
• Coordinate design drawings with the CAD team.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to pursue opportunities, prepare proposals, and develop marketing materials.
• Work with the financial team on fee proposals, project forecasting, reporting, and invoicing.
• Conduct regular project update meetings with team members.
• Convey work product and project results effectively in technical documents, interviews, and presentations.
• Light travel, mostly between Austin and San Antonio, for project needs.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering (or 8 years with an M.S.).
• Licensed PE in Texas for 3+ years.
• Demonstrated leadership experience as a design engineering lead or project manager.
• Experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, and infrastructure rehabilitation.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software, regulatory compliance procedures, and various innovative technologies for water and wastewater treatment.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects successfully.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Local project experience with City of Austin, Travis County, Bexar County, City of San Antonio, SAWS, San Antonio River Authority, and surrounding municipalities or agencies.
• TxDOT Pre-certifications.
