Material Planning Manager, ABB Robotics

Are you ready to shape the future of robotics and advanced manufacturing? At ABB Robotics, you will join a global technology leader driving the next wave of industrial transformation. Our Västerås site is the heart of our European robotics production-where innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence come together to serve customers across the globe .

We are now looking for our next Material Planning Manager , a key leadership role responsible for securing material availability in our European factory located in Västerås . Together with the team and our global supplier base you will driv e excellence in supply planning, inventory optimization, and supplier collaboration to ensure smooth production flow and high on-time delivery (OTD) to our customers.

As a professional you are result-oriented, have strong communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced and international environment. You will report to the Local Supply Chain Manager in Sweden and be based in Västerås.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure material availability and on-time delivery from our supplier base to the factory in Västerås, proactively managing risks and resolving deviations in demand and supply.


  • You will be first line manager for a team with approx. 1 0 employees located in Sweden and second line manager for a team of approx. 10 employees located in Estonia.


  • Provide visibility of supply capacity and local supply objectives into the Sales and Operations Planning process.


  • Manage and develop inventory strategies to optimize balance between material availability, flexibility and inventory turnover.


  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, planning processes, and cross-functional collaboration.


Qualifications for the role

  • Proven experience in purchasing, supply chain or related fields from a manufacturing industry is required ; Management experience is a strong plus.


  • You are result-oriented, analytical , action -oriented with strong communication skills.


  • You have a passion for managing external business relationships and negotiations in a global context.


  • Proficiency in Excel (or other similar tools) and working knowledge of SAP.


  • University degree in supply chain, logistics , engineering, economics or quality is preferred.


  • Swedish and English is mandatory and highly necessary for this position, along with great verbal and written communication skills.
