Transmission Engineer - Transmission & Distribution Location: Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC Position Overview Seeking a Transmission Engineer to support overhead transmission line projects within a growing Transmission & Distribution practice. This role involves technical design, project execution, and potential leadership responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform engineering tasks related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, structure analysis, sag-tension calculations, and clearance reports. Develop specifications for construction, hardware, and materials for high-voltage transmission lines. Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates. Provide guidance to junior staff and potentially lead engineering teams. Conduct quality reviews and serve as a technical lead on projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program. Minimum 3 years of experience in high-voltage overhead transmission line design (Master's degree may substitute for 1 year). Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred: Professional certification (EIT or PE license). Experience with 69kV to 500kV line design. Proficiency in PLS software (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE). Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
