Manual Machinist (Day Shift)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual engine lathes (both large and small), milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Machine parts from raw material to finished dimensions with no supervision.
• Confidently and effectively cut outside diameter (O.D.) and inside diameter (I.D.) threads by single point.
• Cut and finish ring grooves, including BX, R, and Face grooves.
• Experience repairing damaged parts, including chasing threads to restore specification.
• Inspect and verify finished parts using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, performing routine machine maintenance and minor adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to troubleshoot machining challenges and deliver quality results.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years' experience running large and small engine lathes.
• Oilfield machining experience highly desired.
• Proven ability to machine complex parts independently, from raw stock to final dimensions.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, materials, and shop math.
• Skilled in repairing and reworking damaged components to meet exact specifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical training is preferred.
Physical & Work Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Extended standing and manual handling of tools, parts, and equipment.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
