Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nuclear Materials Specialist to join our team. The chosen candidate will ensure the safe handling, transportation, and storage of nuclear materials, maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the handling, transportation, and storage of nuclear materials.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding nuclear materials.
- Conduct safety assessments and implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access to nuclear materials.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to nuclear materials.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and emergency responders.
- Provide training and guidance to personnel involved in the handling of nuclear materials.
- Investigate and respond to incidents involving nuclear materials.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in science or math field and 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of maintaining high levels of process documentation for safety, security, and/or quality.
- Experience working with or around hazardous/nuclear materials.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
