PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, and comfortable environment by supervising the operation and maintenance of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the district in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
EQUIPMENT USED:
Telephone, fax machine, back-hoe, trenching machine, rotor-rooter, electric hand tools, soldering torch, small hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, sockets, pliers, crimpers, wire cutters, etc.), hand saws, power tools, drills, jacks, and lift equipment.
Vehicle and related equipment:
District Vehicle and Light van or truck seat belts, shoulder harness, safety equipment (flares, reflective signs), fire extinguisher, radio communication equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to concentrate, communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret, reason, read, compute, instruct and maintain emotional control under stress; ability to handle several projects at the same time with frequent interruptions
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy weights (45 pounds and over), sitting, standing, walking, climbing (stairs, ladder, scaffold, or ramps), balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speech, visual acuity, distinguishing colors, frequent driving and traveling, exposure to temperature extremes (hot or cold), exposure to humidity extremes, exposures to noise, exposure to low or intense illumination, exposure to vibration, exposure to microwaves, exposure to biological hazards (Communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.), exposure to chemical hazards (asbestos, fumes, vapors, gases, dust, smoke, etc.), exposure to electrical hazards, work outside, prolonged exposure to sunlight, work with hands in water, work around moving object or vehicles, work around machinery with moving parts, work on slippery surfaces, work on uneven surfaces, work alone, work prolonged or irregular hours

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED Required
- Technical School preferred
- Refrigerant recovery certification
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver's license and be insurable
- Able to read blue prints and schematics.
- Able to work at heights above 25 feet.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network communications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC control software.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC controllers and electrical circuits.
- Strong working knowledge of firmware for HVAC controllers.
- Five years' experience in HVAC field
- Experience with computer control of HVAC systems
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide overall supervision of all HVAC personnel.
- Operations and maintenances of all HVAC and refrigeration equipment in the district.
- Secure materials for completion of work orders assigned, department requisitions, maintain adequate inventory of supplies for completion of work orders assigned.
- Receives and assigns all work orders to HVAC crews; Ensures that all HVAC work orders are successfully completed and submitted to office staff in a timely manner.
- Maintains work schedules to carry a successful preventive maintenance program.
- Responsible for the safety training of others an ensure crews are practicing latest safety measures to perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others; and report accidents immediately.
- Work in conjunction with other Maintenance Supervisors to complete projects assigned to the Maintenance Department.
- Ensures vehicles, equipment, and tool boxes are locked and secure at all times while vehicle is left unattended.
- Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
