Job Title: Master Mechanic Consult/Part Time/Temporary
Reports To: Richard Taikowski
Supervises: None
Function/Dept.: Power Plant
Purpose:
• To provide full maintenance/ electrical services and controls systems at Power Plant and to support facilities, manufacturing, process, and environmental systems. To work on the condensate polisher project and other projects during the total plant outage in Oct. Will also be required to take on small project management responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
• Utilize the maintenance work-order system (SAP) to plan and schedule tasks from the work-order backlog. Assure all work is properly documented.
• Oversee total (all craft) area-specific maintenance responsibilities, and prioritize work schedule based on the overall needs of the business.
• Perform cross-craft mechanical/welding/machining/rigging tasks, as qualified to support departmental needs.
• Participate in the determination and preparation of preventive/predictive maintenance routines and work instructions.
• Perform all Electrical and Control tasks required to support asset management objectives to optimize performance, extend service life and minimize maintenance down time.
• Actively lead others and be involved with continuous improvement, A-Plus, and break-down analysis to determine root-cause of failures.
• Assist with determining training requirements and actively participate in the training of other technicians.
• Assist Engineering with system improvements and capital investment initiatives.
Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
• Associates degree in electrical technology, military training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. E-2 electrical license recommended.
• At least 10+ years of previous electrical and controls experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of 480 volt power distribution systems, AC/DC variable speed drives, PLC's, Process Instrumentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and make corrective action decisions under pressure.
• Thorough knowledge of all electrical NFPA/NEC standards.
• Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for his/her own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks
• This position is additionally responsible as part of the manufacturing flexibility program to cross-train and be fully qualified to work in an at least one other alternate position within the manufacturing operation.
