KBR is looking for a PACE Operations Systems Engineer (Systems Eng 2)

This position will support the Ground Systems and Mission Operations (GSMO) contract at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center as an Operations Systems Engineer for the Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) Flight Operations Team (FOT). The

PACE FOT Operations Systems Engineer will:
  • Report to the PACE FOT Lead Operations Engineer on all matters related to PACE mission operations.
  • Support RT Operations as scheduled and cover scheduled vacancies as necessary
  • Represent PACE Flight Operations Team at technical meetings as required by the PACE Mission Director. This may include a variety of Technical Interface Meetings (TIMs), Anomaly and Failure Review Boards (FRBs), Command Authorization Meetings (CAMs), and Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of the PACE Observatory by collecting telemetry data and processing all health and status telemetry data and assess the performance of each spacecraft subsystem and instrument.
  • Generate special activity reports as needed to support anomaly investigations, maneuver planning, and any special activity reports requested by the Mission Director.
  • Generate weekly reports, CAMs, Monthly Status Reviews (MSR), Annual Operations Status Review, etc...
  • Support MSR as required to discuss assigned systems/subsystems
  • Generate MOCRs, OARs, Event Reports, and Anomaly Reports as necessary
  • Perform daily trending and data analysis activities for assigned instruments/subsystems
  • Perform verification testing using the FlatSat for all off-nominal activities prior to use on the spacecraft.
  • Support PACE Automation development and testing
  • Support FOT in nominal, critical, and contingency operations.
  • Maintain LOPs, STOL procedures, displays, the training program and other operational tools, processes, and artifacts required for the on-going success of PACE.
  • Train other FOT members
  • Complete required certification tests in a timely manner
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Will be required to be on rotation through On-Call support with additional off-nominal hours possible during special operations (including weekends and holidays).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • BS in engineering, applied science, or related field and 5+ years of progressive, related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Previous PACE Flight Operations experience
  • Spacecraft subsystem engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience with the ITOS Telemetry and Command System.

Basic Compensation:

$119,200K - $178,800K

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
