We are seeking a Chief Estimator to join our Houston, TX office.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Support the Lead Estimator in performing all project Estimating related tasks.
• Support assurance to total project cost estimates along with auditing contractor and engineering estimates to ensure appropriate cost target setting.
• Support Monte Carlo-type cost risk assessments.
• Support the provision of rough order of magnitude, conceptual, preliminary, and detail estimates to onsite project teams.
• Assist local Cost Benchmarking - Help maintain historical cost database and apply learning for improved project performance.
• Be familiar with scope development best practice and fit-for-purpose parametric, conceptual material take off (MTO), and detailed MTO estimating techniques.
• Assist in implementation of client estimating policy, procedures, processes, guidelines, tools, and templates.
• Support external BRISKs and IPA benchmarking exercises.
• Support Business/Portfolio Management Team (e.g., early screening estimates).
• Actively utilize the local cost database to measure project estimate performance.
• Identify, analyze, and respond to project opportunities, risks, and uncertainties.
• Maintain compliance with client Published Guidelines and Common Processes as it relates to estimating and controls.
• Participate with external contractors during estimating process for data collection on Engineering and Construction scopes of work.
• Support project teams with stage-gated process and deliverables.
• Assist Project Team resources to complete all closeout requirements including lessons learned exercises.
• Assist Contracts group and Contract Account Manager in developing strategy for programs and individual projects.
• Job walks in live process units may be required.
• Integrate estimate, planning and cost functions to maintain data accuracy and single source of truth throughout estimate development process.
• Support continuous improvement scopes of work.

What will you contribute?

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, or 15 years of relevant construction experience, or alternatively up to 15 years experience in a similar environment.
• Preferred experience working with estimating software and MS office applications.
• Previous estimating experience preferred.
• Familiar with Estimating working practices and methodologies.
• Must generally understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Cost Management systems.
• Must be articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and good decision-making abilities.
• Must have good communication skills.
