This Position reports to:
Service Manager - Traction

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create, modify, and analyze the design of equipment, systems, or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction. Each day, you will optimize designs to meet updated standards and incorporate new products, components, and functionalities. You will also showcase your expertise by applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for Traction division based in Bangalore, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Hardware testing and qualification of converters for railways applications, like Traction Converter, Auxiliary convertor, and Battery chargers.
  • Understanding of drawing/specifications and communicate requirements to vendors/ Customers.
  • Understanding of locomotive, EMU train, or Metro complete electrical topology for operation of traction, Aux converter & battery chargers.
  • Based on field analysis provide input and recommend changes to Hardware/Software and existing product designs.
  • Performing FMEA analysis and support to PLCM.
  • Continually recommends improvements in all areas related to standards, products, and drawings. Realizing Bill of Material, Schematics, and all kind of Design Documents.
  • Respecting and/or allocating requirements and Electrical and Control interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipment's (in terms of Converter and System /Loco level)


Qualifications for the role
  • Requires a Bachelor's / master's degree in electrical/Electronics/Power Electronics engineering.
  • Prefer >3-6 years of related work experience.
  • Must have good experience in power electronics, traction convertor, Auxiliary convertor, Hotel load or composite converter railways applications, EMU or metro rail applications.
  • Proficiency software including MATLAB and E3 schematic understanding, FUFLA understanding etc.
  • Able to perform and analyze results from simulations and Hand calculations.
  • Experience in RAMS/LCC calculations & its understanding.
  • Trouble shooting, Route cause analysis & 8D report reparation for component or product failure.
