Job Summary:

Job Duties:

The Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Revenue Generation & Strategic Advancement manages advancement operations for Bucknell Athletics & Recreation, driving revenue and engagement efforts with alumni, parents, and friends. This prioritizes sport-specific affinity groups to increase Bison Club giving, major gifts, and facility enhancements. Serves as the main contact between head coaches and University Advancement (UA) gift officers, oversees One Herd One Day Giving Challenge(s), and acts as the primary liaison with the Campus Box Office and Learfield. All Athletics staff members are expected to contribute to Bucknell's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Reporting Relationship:
  • Reports to the Vice President/Director of Athletics

Work Setting/Schedule:
  • Primarily on-campus
  • Must be able to travel as appropriate for donor engagement and fundraising events
  • Requires night and weekend availability

What You Will Do:
  • Strategic Fundraising Leadership & Campaign Development (25%)
    • Develops overall strategy and directs department fundraising initiatives and campaign positioning in collaboration with the Athletics and UA leadership to build positive relationships with alumni, parents, and friends and solicit continued support. Partners with UA's marketing, strategy, and outreach team on donor communications, including the department's One Herd One Day campaign.
  • Major Gift Portfolio Management (25%)
    • Manages a portfolio of $100,000+ donors and prospects for athletics.
  • Annual Giving & Bison Club Campaign Oversight (20%)
    • Plans strategically for the Bison Club's Drive for Five. Partners with Athletics marketing and digital communications team on donor communications, including head coach correspondence.
  • Major Donor Collaboration & Stewardship Strategy (15%)
    • Serves as the primary liaison with UA gift officers on major prospects interested in supporting Athletics. Collaborates with officers on developing cultivation and stewardship strategies involving head coaches and student-athletes.
  • Institutional Leadership & Cross-Departmental Engagement (10%)
    • Serves on the Athletic Director Council, Athletics Senior Staff, and UA Strategic Philanthropy Team, and attends all meetings. Attends meetings with senior leadership. Meets with select sport administrators and head coaches, along with management of Learfield MMR offering. Serves on other campus committees throughout the year.
  • Donor Engagement & Event Representation (5%)
    • Participates in select events on campus and on the road for Bucknell alumni, parents, and friends. Attends select home basketball games, football games, postseason games, and home contests for several Olympic sport competitions.

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or a related industry with demonstrated success in revenue-generating roles
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and digital engagement strategies (e.g., CRM systems, analytics, digital marketing platforms)
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Valid US driver's license/Motor Vehicle Check required upon hire

Preferred, But Not Required
  • Master's Degree, and 8+ years of experience
  • Proven success fundraising at NCAA Division I level
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, multimedia rights holders, or external consultants

Salary Range:
88,000.00-110,000.00

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
