Machinist - Day Shift

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

• Perform programming, set-up, and machining, using Manual and CNC Lathe or Milling machine.
• Complete the machining process from start to finish - including programming, 100% independently.
• Efficiently and safely use machines; keep tooling, machines, and work areas clean and organized.
• Be accountable to machine shop supervisor and/or job leader as applicable.
• Work in a safe manner and follow jurisdictional safety rules.
• Be available to work planned overtime when/if needed.
• Work according to quality procedures.
• Work with minimal to no supervision.

The ideal candidate:

• Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM Software.
• Mastercam (or other Cad/Cam software) knowledge a definite asset on lathe, mandatory for milling applicants.
• Proficient ability to read drawings and accurately machine close-tolerance parts often within 0.0005" tolerance.
• Completed a general machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent.
• Completed a CNC training program.
• Must be willing to be designated as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
• Wire EDM programming and setup a definite asset.
• Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazak controls.
• Able to pass certification requirements for operation of overhead cranes.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Proficient in reading drawings.
• Good verbal and written communication.
