Position Summary
The HVAC Journeyman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC, boiler, chiller, and plumbing systems. This position requires a valid journeyman license in HVAC and/or plumbing. Work is performed on commercial job sites in compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform installation, assembly, and repair of HVAC, boiler, chiller, and plumbing systems according to specifications and building codes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical systems to ensure proper operation.
• Handle, load, and organize materials, tools, and equipment required for daily work.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols to maintain a safe jobsite.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers regarding job progress and issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after service or installation.
• Complete required documentation such as work orders, safety checklists, and timesheets accurately and on time.
• Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
• Valid journeyman license in HVAC and/or plumbing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience performing commercial HVAC, boiler, chiller, and plumbing work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and on active construction or service sites.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and use hands and arms.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in variable weather conditions.
• Ability to operate standard tools and equipment safely.
Work Schedule
• Standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
• On-call work as scheduled.
• Overtime may be required based on workload and project deadlines.
