About Beaumont

With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont ,Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. What role you will play in our team

The Console Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently monitoring and controlling the process to produce polyethylene and operating of utilities unit. This role ensures that all unit operations are conducted in strict compliance with regulatory standards, environmental policies, and company safety procedures. The Console Operator serves an experienced operator capable of managing complex systems, responding to abnormal conditions, and providing support during emergencies.

What you will do

• Accountable for driving a high standard in the execution of systems/procedures to manage risk to personnel: Operating Procedures, COD, & PCA
• Accountable for protecting equipment and preventing incidents by operating within the equipment/ process capability (Tier 1 and Tier 2 OEs), detecting equipment issues early in failure cycle and directing response to minimize business impact
• Accountable for maximizing profitability by optimizing the unit consistent with the Run Plan, preventing quality losses and optimizing energy usage
• Accountable for effectively interfacing with the Business Team to ensure alignment and teamwork to deliver the business objectives
• Monitor and control the process from fresh feeds through purification to unit
• Execute operational protocols for the start-up, shutdown, and adjustment of process systems
• Analyze system data and alarms to identify trends, detect anomalies, and respond to abnormal or emergency conditions
• Communicate and coordinate with field operations, third-party pipelines, and other control centers to ensure operational integrity.
• Document all console activities in compliance with Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) requirements and company policy
• Support the development and assist with training of new console operators
• Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis related to console activities
• Ensures strict adherence to environmental regulations and company safety standards

About You

Skills and Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of gas phase Polyethylene operations and console experience
• Eight (8) to ten (10) years of polyethylene console experience, or closely related experience
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which includes seven (7) nights at 12-hours once a month and seven (7) days at 12-hours once a month (Dupont Schedule)
• Directs Operators on unit operations and interactions, procedure use, radio protocol and OCVM accountability

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:

• Ability to accurately and timely solve complex problems
• DCS control experienced (Honeywell preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft excel and other basic computer skills
• Previous operations supervision experience
