Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to deploy and lead the continuous improvement strategy for a local organizational unit, including creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Each day, you will mentor and coach teams to achieve operational excellence and drive improved results. You will also showcase your expertise by leading programs and projects to improve and sustain local business performance. This role partners with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall business performance.
This role is contributing to the ANSI Grid Components Manufacturing Unit in Pinetops, North Carolina, USA reporting to our Electrification Distribution Solutions Business Line. Main stakeholders are Customers, Suppliers, Employees and Functional Owners within our Pinetops Factory.

Working conditions
Manufacturing plant environment requires a combination of hands-on and technical tasks. Work may involve occasional lifting of materials, climbing stairs/ladders, and walking. Employees may be required to bend, twist, or stand for extended periods.
Frequent use of computers is necessary for data entry, monitoring, and communication. Employees will also handle a variety of tools and equipment, from hand tools to machinery, requiring technical skills and adherence to safety protocols.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes, is required to ensure a safe working environment. Adhering to safety guidelines is essential for all team members.
The work environment requires physical endurance, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards to contribute to a productive and rewarding workplace.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Develop, lead, and execute the organization's continuous improvement strategy in alignment with business goals; Use Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other CI tools to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Facilitate workshops, training, and coaching to embed a culture of continuous improvement across teams; Monitor and track performance metrics, analyze data, and report on progress of improvement initiatives.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, finance, and other departments to implement process improvements and best practices; Support leadership in setting and achieving performance targets through structured improvement projects.

Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 15+ years experience in manufacturing operations including minimum 10+ years in management positions supporting production, manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, process optimization, quality or operational excellence roles.
- Experience must also include minimum 7+ years of Continuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing operation with proven record of practical application of lean manufacturing and six sigma tools
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), Kaizen, or equivalent methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills; Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office-Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, and SAP
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States
