Wood is recruiting for a Light Fire Driver to join its Iraq business unit focusing on driving, maintaining emergency vehicles, responding to emergencies, and participating in drills for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 24 hours ON / 72 hours off rotation.
This role is a full-time on-site role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.
Reports to: FOMS / EP&R / Risk Supervisor (Safety Supervisor as alternate)

Job Objectives:
The Fire Light Driver, as part of the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Department will have primary responsibility to drive, maintain emergency vehicles, respond to emergencies, and participate in drills in order to ensure safety of personnel and equipment in WQ1.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The fire light driver is part of the emergency team and is required to safely drive the fire emergency vehicles with a timely response to emergency. He will be part of the Emergency Response Team and hence is required to work as emergency responder (firefighter, rescuer and oil or chemical spills responder). He is required to work during company allocated work hours, however should attend emergencies during off duty hours when required. Following are the additional responsibilities for this position:

Job Objectives:

The fire light driver is part of the emergency team and is required to safely drive the fire emergency vehicles with a timely response to emergency. He will be part of the Emergency Response Team and hence is required to work as emergency responder (firefighter, rescuer and oil or chemical spills responder). He is required to work during company allocated work hours, however should attend emergencies during off duty hours when required. Following are the additional responsibilities for this position:
- Complete daily emergency vehicles and equipment checks and document completion (check list).
- Take part in continuous training and learning programs by attending lectures, exercises, simulated incidents, practice drill sessions and other forms of training to achieve and maintain competence levels.
- Clean and maintain bunker gear and keep it ready for use.
- Able to use and maintain SCBA.
- The driver shall be obligated to clean and maintain the emergency vehicle (fire truck included) and submit reports to his direct official in the event of a malfunction or loss and report the problem if any.
- Fire light drivers will be responsible for being familiar with all topographical routes in WQ1
- Complete all monthly PM inspection and test on time.
- Driving emergency vehicles inside and outside the field and adhering to the specified speed, when responding to accidents or otherwise.
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
Knowledge and Skills
- Completed at least Year 12 school certificate or equivalent.
- Possess a valid (Light Goods Vehicle) LGV driver's license.
- Possess a valid 3rd party medical fitness certificate - This criteria will be checked before hiring
- Minimum 2 years' experience and above for driving light vehicles)
- Possess a basic understanding of vehicles mechanics and troubleshooting
- Have a knowledge about the basic of firefighting and responsibilities especially dealing with oil and gas fires
- Knowledge of radio/mobile usage and having good communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic, both verbally and in writing
- Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports
Personal Attributes

Preferred
- Previous experience with emergency services.
- Previous experience to operate heavy equipment and pumps.
- English language and PC skills knowledge would be an advantage.
Any Other Relevant Information:
- 12 months renewable contract, considering both performance and business need
- Primary work location will be DS7 Degassing Station but need to travel to other locations inside WQ1
