Position Title: HVAC Tech
Location: Dallas, TX

Position Status: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $32/hr on W2 range
Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to provide exceptional commercial HVAC and general maintenance services across an assigned geographic territory in [City, State]. Using a company van and tools, you will travel to various customer sites to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems as well as general property maintenance.
Your role will include troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing HVAC equipment such as package units, split systems, and boilers, while also applying your skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing as needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships are essential. Participation in an on-call rotation for emergency service support is required.
This position requires adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and the use of technology to manage work orders, inspections, and reporting efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including belts, pulleys, compressors, burners, heat exchangers, and safety controls.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair steam and hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and duct issues.
Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA regulations.
Conduct minor plumbing maintenance tasks such as unclogging drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures.
Perform routine carpentry and painting repairs to keep facilities in excellent condition.
Execute minor electrical repairs (within state law limits), including light fixture and outlet replacements.
Complete service and asset inspections, documenting and reporting findings accurately.
Utilize tablets and smartphones to access work orders, submit service reports, and track time and expenses.
Foster strong, positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams through professional communication.
Participate in safety and compliance training, and maintain strict adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
Provide estimates for larger projects and customer requests.
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.
Required Skills/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical certification or state HVAC license strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC and general maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
Valid EPA Universal Refrigeration License required.
Valid driver's license in good standing.
Proven experience with industrial/commercial HVAC equipment and systems.
Proficient with mobile technology and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Strong ability to read technical manuals, safety policies, and communicate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
