Job Description Summary

Engineering work related to the manufacturing process. Responsible for the quality of one's own work. Operates under direct supervision with prescribed work instructions and system checks. Executes tasks within a well-defined operational framework, typically following a step-by-step sequence of standard procedures to achieve the desired results.

This is an entry-level role within a composites manufacturing shop that produces composite aircraft hardware for commercial jet engines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Define and control production processes, including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor applications for new products, tools, or equipment. This includes responsibilities typically associated with Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Develop conceptual knowledge of the professional discipline, which may include support roles requiring specialized expertise or technical knowledge in a broad area.
  • Apply general business knowledge gained through education or past experience. Understand how the work of one's team contributes to the broader organizational goals.
  • Resolve issues using established procedures. Consult with supervisors or senior team members for matters outside of defined instructions or parameters.
  • Collaborate with others to solve problems. For customer-facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and act as the interface between the customer and GE. Exchange technical information, ask questions, and ensure mutual understanding.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing Engineering experience)
