Job Description:

Utilizes computerized building automation system for HVAC operations. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs complex HVAC mechanical equipment and distribution systems in the Hospital and auxiliary building(s). Assists trades in work activities related to Hospital maintenance.

Required Skills:

1. General knowledge of use of personal computer and ability to learn operation software applications, i.e., METASYS Energy Management System.
2. Ability to read, write, speak, English.
3. Ability to make mathematical calculations and follow detailed written and oral instruction.
4. General knowledge of plumbing and steam fittings, circulating and condensate pumps and vacuum.
5. Knowledgeable of standards and codes related to healthcare facilities.
6. Must be thoroughly familiar with tools and methods of trade.
7. Able to read and follow blueprints.
8. MSDS information.
9. Knowledgeable of Life Safety code, NFDA and ADA requirements and specifications.

Required Experience:

Work Experience
Two years sheet metal experience in commercial, industrial construction. Two years HVAC experience in commercial, industrial, construction or healthcare facilities.

License/Registration/Certification:
Texas HVAC (EPA) recovery license.

Education and Training:
Completion of approved, accredited trade school course AND trade apprenticeship program in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
