Wood is currently recruiting for a Rigless superintendent to join its Singapore business unit focusing on efficient management and oversight of operational service activities for a major onshore brownfield project in Basra, Iraq on 4*4 rotation.
This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.

Job Purpose
  • Primary Function
    • To conduct the day to day safe and efficient management and oversight of operational service activities carried out in multiple locations throughout the field.
    • To contribute to the work plan and hopper with all other parties being the Wells Planner, Contractor and Sub Surface.
    • To be able to manage a work schedule in excess of 1,000 individual operations per annum.
    • To maximize the efficiency and utilization of resources.
    • To maintain a focus on quality of operations and incremental production delivery


  • Job Role and Interfaces
    • To ensure safety plans and operational procedures are adhered to under the terms of the relevant bridging document my means of recorded site visits and periodic audits conducted by him/herself and others.
    • To conduct periodic Management Site visits with contractor and service company management as per the department schedule.
    • To contribute, as required to the development and review of company and department systems and processes including FOMS (The Field Operating Management System).
    • To actively participate in the training and development of local national employees, Including BOC, or agency personnel.
    • To work with and directly communicate with and support personnel on location.
    • To maintain close communication with the Wells Superintendent, Wells Manager and counterparts at all times.
    • To effectively coordinate and report from on activities across multiple work fronts.
    • To maintain a close and mutual advisory function with the Wellwork Engineering Team.
    • To be fully aware of the terms of multiple contracts and ensure the terms are adhered to and to flag up any inconsistencies and, or non compliance meetings and communications with and between all involved parties.
    • To ensure quality standards are maintained and wherever possible improved.
    • To embrace and to actively contribute to the promoting of a culture of continuous improvement.
    • To actively and effectively manage, develop and support all subordinate staff.
    • To actively encourage others to contribute to the work process through direct participation and other means of involvement.
    • To be aware of and take into account local community issues.
    • To contribute to the management reporting and forecasting needs of the organisation.
    • To contribute when required to the budgeting and tendering processes.
    • Establish effective working relationships with contractor companies, management and logistics functions.
    • Good analytical skills and able to conduct root cause and incident investigations.
    • Responsible for the practical field implementation of a Well Integrity Management System across an inventory of 1000plus wells.

Expected:
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience required in Well Servicing, both field, or superintendent level.
  • One major discipline with hands on experience and practical supervision experience in wireline, slickline, pumping/stimulation, perforation (wireline and TCP, coiled tubing , flowback and well testing.
  • Min. BS Degree desirable (engineering preferred), or time served equivalent.
  • Well developed skills use of MS Office software and tools.
  • Ability to work well with others in a culturally diverse; multi-functional team environment. Able to interact effectively with peers; service and contractor representatives.
  • Must be a "self starter" and motivated individual.
  • Proven ability to manage a project on multiple work fronts.
  • Experience of operations in South Iraq/Land/desert environments.

Education and Qualifications
  • Min. BS Degree desirable (engineering preferred), or time served equivalent.
  • Minimum IADC/IWCF Level 4 Well Control (Well Interventions) certification (within 2 years validity).
  • Professional courses / certificates related to Well Servicing.
