About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Pilot to join our team operating on the dynamic and challenging waters of the Humber Estuary. As a Marine Pilot, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe navigation of vessels to and from ports along the estuary, including Grimsby, Immingham, Hull, Goole and the river Trent. Our 4 Humber ports handle over 60m tonnes of cargo annually spanning Biomass, containers, construction materials and ro-ro amongst others, this business is supported by our Humber pilotage team who carry out approximately 14,000 ship movements through the Humber Estuary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely pilot a wide range of vessels through the Humber Estuary, including tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships.
- Liaise with vessel masters, port control, VTS and tug operators to ensure efficient and safe passage.
- Provide expert local knowledge of tides, currents, and navigational hazards.
- Maintain high standards of safety and compliance with a sound understanding of local, national and international maritime regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain pilotage certification and operational readiness.
- Observing safety codes and procedures, attending courses, and performing training as required
- Aligning with the company's Health & Safety Policy and participating in any required training.

About You:
- Must hold a valid STCW II/2 unlimited Certificate of Competency (Chief Mate or Master) or Royal Navy equivalent.
- Self-motivated individual with good communication skills.
- Willing to undertake further training as necessary.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
Ideal:
- Recent seagoing experience within the management structure of a vessel.
- Experience of ship handling on the Humber or similar tidal estuary
- Previous experience as a Pilot in another district
- Previous experience with ABP Health and Safety practices.
- Computer literate.
