SUMMARY OF ROLE
As a design engineer, you will convert the technical needs of the customer into a Sempell product. Understanding the customer's technical requirements and designing valves or valve components that complies with applicable pressure equipment standards should be your primary goal in order to facilitate cost-effective execution and timely delivery of the necessary BOM. Helping with operation execution challenges and supporting the sales team with quote requests are other duties you have.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
• Order-related design of valves within the various product categories according to customer specifications
• Creation of 3D models, assemblies and variant designs with the help of the 3D CAD system Solid Works
• Creation of manufacturing and assembly drawings (drafting)
• Calculation, design and construction of the individual parts in accordance with applicable national or international regulations
• Set up and revise analytical design calculation templates, procedures and modules
• Perform basic numerical mechanic (FEA) calculations using onboard tools of CAD software.
• Product-related and order-related article creation and article maintenance in the SAP ERP system
• Development of prototypes, optimization of proven products and further development of model series as well as their maintenance
• Standard-compliant preparation and review of drawings, production documents and assembly documents Instructing and providing support regarding the preparation or correction of preliminary test documents for submission to a notified body, e.g. TÜV-Rheinland (drawings, material lists, etc.)
• Preparation of technical documents, operating and maintenance manuals, series documents, inspection reports and customer documentation. Technical support for the sales, purchasing, manufacturing, service and assembly departments
• For the fulfilment of the tasks, the willingness to make sporadic business trips is required
• Continuously improve engineering processes and optimize product cost/value ratio
• Develop her/him-self with the latest engineering practices and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
• Communicate clearly and efficiently

For This Role, You Will Need:
• University degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification in mechanical engineering with a specialization in valve or valve technology
• Minimum of three years of professional experience desirable
• Knowledge of a CAD program, preferably SolidWorks
• Knowledge of basic FEM/FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks onboard tools, or similar) would be plus
• Knowledge of PED and ASME design calculations (DIN EN 12516-2; B16.34) would be plus, willingness to learn the necessary standards
• High motivation Independent and team-oriented way of working
• Careful and conscientious work
• High degree of flexibility and commitment
• Team player with strong communication skills (English is essential)
• Good time management, ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in common MS Office applications is required
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP desirable
