Eaton's AER Aerospace Group division is currently seeking a Aerospace Power Systems Engineer.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year.

What you'll do:
Job Summary
Join the Eaton Aerospace Group in our electrification journey! The Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for detailed design and documentation of electrical power systems and its protection on-board of electrified/hybrid new generation aircrafts. The Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at creating and maintaining efficient power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electric power. The primary function would include the responsibility of ensuring that the power systems are not only efficient but also meet the required safety Aerospace standards and regulations.
Duties also include supporting developed products and its derivative extensions by enhancing performance levels, reducing manufacturing & product costs, and implementing quality / reliability improvements and interfacing with other internal Eaton functions and customers"
Job Responsibilities
• Designing and analyzing power systems to ensure stability, reliability and resiliency (safety).
• Conducting research and implementing new methodologies to enhance power generation and distribution processes.
• Generate reliable, cost effective, power supply design solutions that meet or exceed the needs of customer applications as well as comply with all applicable governing regulatory standards (UL, CE, AS91000/ISO, MilStds, DO-160 etc.).
• Simulating system performance under different operating conditions to predict the occurrence of potential problems and failure modes.
• Ensuring that all electrical systems are following current regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborating with other engineers and professionals on projects that involve electrical power systems.
• Preparing technical documentation, such as system drawings, specifications, and operational guidelines.
• Assessing the load requirements of different systems and determining the power supply capacities for existing and future demands.
• Conducting system tests and inspections to ensure operational effectiveness and safety.
• Developing project cost estimates and timelines.
• Develop and manage requirement specifications.
• Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle development, verification, and certification preferably in aerospace (experience with design assurance levels)
• Interface with manufacturing and quality assurance personnel in establishing quality requirements for power supply products.
• Work with commercial and product management teams to generate technical proposal, estimating development time and cost (NRE), pricing and overall solutions to meet customer's RFQs and requirements.
• Aid in generating technical papers, technical articles, patent disclosures, and technical discussions under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
• Support Manufacturing with design related issues, concessions, and Engineering Change Requests.
• Achieve familiarity with the products of Eaton common to this activity and study the engineering and products of competitors.
• Drives the use of tools such as DFMEA, DFT and DFM design techniques to ensure development of robust design specifications, design guidelines, model and drawing detailing, design validation plans that produce reliable and sound design solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
• 5+ years minimum experience in power system design and protection development including in depth understanding of electrical circuits, power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Previous experience/ knowledge and proficiency in computer simulation and modeling software (PSCAD and Matlab/Simulink is required, ETAP, PSS/E desirable).

• Understanding of aerospace standards & electrical aircraft systems is desirable"
• Background in, Aerospace Military Stds 461, 704 etc,, DO-160 stds UL compliance requirements are preferred
