ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES
- Perform daily inspections of all assigned projects, including but not limited to, proper survey and staking, material delivery based on approved material list and submissions, trench safety means and methods to approved plan, and material and methods of construction associated with private parking lots.
- Perform testing of construction materials; monitor materials throughout project.
- Attend project meetings and provide input on pre-design, pre-construction, construction progress.
- Review construction drawings and blueprints for project; ensure to clarify any concerns and/or questions regarding reviewed data and associated project needs.
- Assist with coordination of internal and external stakeholders throughout the project; coordinate and schedule requested inspections.
- Compile necessary project documents, create project construction file, maintain proper documentation for all project changes, and ensure approval for all needed changes to approved project plans.
- Monitor administrative activities prior to active construction; notify leadership immediately, if not able to resolve issues prior to construction.
- Assist in the coordination of in-house crews for taps and tie in points.
- Coordinate with Watershed Protection on inspection and enforce erosion control measures at construction sites during construction.
- Process and track monthly estimates on capital improvement projects.
- Compile and maintain detailed project records; provide project reports and documentation, as needed.
- Respond to citizens' concerns as they relate to construction sites and right of ways; perform research and facilitate actions to resolve concern, as appropriate.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent; and,
- Four (4) years' experience in civil engineering, utility infrastructure improvements,

- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Knowledge of drafting, surveying, utility construction and /or construction technology.

- Skilled in reading and comprehending highly technical or specialized materials.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting plans, blueprints, schematics, and/or other related construction documents.

- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work overtime, as needed.
