Job Description:
The Power Systems site engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating independent work teams at the Generator Test Site and other areas, maintenance shops and test courses under the control of Aberdeen Test Center. The site engineer ensures that tasks are completed, and daily schedules reflect the on-hand work. They provide and coordinate accurate timely solutions for problems and enforce safety protocols. The site engineer assists the TSM with planning the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials and works in concert with leadership to plan future work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies. They determine the appropriate number and skill level of workers needed to accomplish specific projects and redirect individual workers with help/guidance of the GTS technicians to accomplish unanticipated work. Informs the TSM of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resource needs. The site engineer also provides technical direction as needed and assists in accomplishing difficult/complex work steps. Observes work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems and inspects completed work for quality. Actively participates to ensure personal, team, visitor and end user safety in accordance with policy, standard operating procedures, and locally identified hazard mitigation requirements. Assists the TSM with timekeeping, management of regulatory functions regarding personnel licensing and training, facility maintenance and upgrades.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with management the daily operations of the GTS technicians to ensure that work is being performed at the highest quality and in accordance with applicable work instructions, quality standards, and Government SOPs/TOPs/JHAs. Participates in developing procedures for emerging technologies
- Ensure personnel and equipment safety to include use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Frequently visit test areas, ranges and facilities to interact with assigned employees. Capture employee feedback and recommendations
- Advises the TSM on problem issues from subordinates and test officers. Work to resolve issues before raising to the TSM for resolution
- Develops, implements and maintains internal work instructions
- Coordinates and prioritizes work with GTS IVs and TSM to ensure customer requirements are met and are completed in a timely manner
- Attends the ATC Resource Scheduling meetings as needed to coordinate the placement of personnel in support of project schedules
- Provide recommendations of cross-utilization of personnel to the TSM to maximize productivity
- Provide timely and accurate input to all applicable Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) items as requested by the TSM
- Assist the TSM to determine and maintain proper training and required certifications/licenses for the performance of duties
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate records for property inventory and equipment accountability. Ensures vehicles and equipment are properly maintained to support mission operations in a safe manner
- Support a professional, safe, non-hostile, and harassment-free work environment
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering specialization or related discipline and 5 yr. applicable experience; or a Master's Degree in engineering specialization or related discipline and 3 yr. applicable experience; or a Doctorate Degree in engineering specialization or related discipline and 1 yr. applicable experience
- Must have demonstrated leadership ability
- Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions
- Must be able to work in maintenance, outdoor test range, and automotive test course environments
- Must be capable of kneeling, bending, and standing while performing assigned duties
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening periodic retest.
- Must be able to successfully complete a background screening.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
