Job Summary:

One position available. The goal of this position is to strengthen energy education efforts in the School District of La Crosse. KEEP has a mission to provide energy education to K-12 teachers and students throughout the state of Wisconsin. The Community Renewable Energy Educator ("educator") will collaborate with Solar on La Crosse Schools (SOLS) volunteers, school district staff, and KEEP staff to accomplish the following tasks over a six-month period:

  • Learn about resources and curriculum available through KEEP
  • Collaborate with co-educator
  • Plan and implement at least two energy education opportunities involving students in the School District of La Crosse (such as classroom visits or evening/weekend events) during first six months
    • SOLS will contribute ideas, connections, and preferred timing
  • Borrow at least 1 KEEP kit for use at outreach event(s)
  • Promote KEEP trainings and events that are relevant to La Crosse educators via SOLS social media and/or newsletter
  • Collect and share with KEEP: participant information that includes at the very minimum the name and school of K-12 teachers and the number of K-12 students reached

This educator will receive a $250 stipend paid by KEEP upon successfully completing the actions outlined above over a six-month period. This position will ideally be repeated for an additional six-month period, and is preferably completed as a team of two educators working to plan four events over a year.
