The HVAC Engineer is responsible for the design, specification, coordination, and inspection of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for oil and gas facilities. This includes systems for living quarters, substations, control rooms, technical buildings, and process areas on both onshore and offshore facilities. The role ensures HVAC systems meet environmental, safety, and operational requirements while complying with project and regulatory standards work domain includes.

General Description of Role and Responsibilities [ but not limited to ]:
Design & Engineering
- Review and consent to HVAC system designs including:
- Load calculations (heating/cooling).
- Equipment selection (AHUs, FCUs, chillers, fans, compressors).
- Ductwork and piping layouts.
- Control philosophy and sequence of operations.
- Review and consent to HVAC specifications, datasheets, and technical requisitions.
- Coordinate with electrical, architectural, and structural teams for HVAC system integration.
- Review and consent to ventilation analysis for hazardous areas and ensure compliance with area classification.
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure HVAC systems are designed per international and industry standards (ASHRAE, ISO, API, NFPA, IEC, etc.).
- Design for safety-critical environments (e.g., gas detection interlocks, pressurization of control rooms).
- Ensure compliance with environmental and energy efficiency regulations.
- Procurement & Vendor Coordination.
- Prepare and review technical bid evaluations (TBEs) for HVAC packages.
- Review vendor documentation and interface with suppliers during equipment manufacturing.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of HVAC equipment and controls.
Construction & Commissioning Support
- Supervise HVAC installation at site and verify alignment with design and QA/QC standards.
- Perform inspections, witness testing, and assist in commissioning activities (e.g., air balancing, performance testing).
- Support field engineering teams with technical resolutions and punch list closures.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in HVAC design tools and calculations (e.g., HAP, Carrier, Revit MEP).
- Understanding of pressurization systems, filtration requirements, and HVAC for hazardous areas.
- Familiarity with HVAC controls, fire/smoke dampers, emergency shutdown logic, and integration with building management systems (BMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary project team and manage vendor coordination.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Work experience of eight (8) years in the sought discipline after earning the university degree.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total, with at least the last 3–5 years spent on offshore projects.
- Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reports
