- Represent Dragon Oil as a shareholder in all Drilling and Completion Engineering-related matters to Iraq Asset.
- Provide technical overview, governance, and challenge to operator activities to ensure alignment with shareholder objectives, technical standards, and value delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as Dragon Oil's focal point in Drilling and Completion discussions with operators. Participate in JV technical meetings (e.g., TCMs, well planning reviews, IFDP sessions, risk workshops). Review and challenge operator well designs, completion programs, stimulation plans, and contracting strategies. Ensure shareholder objectives and technical standards are upheld.
- Track and analyze Drilling, Completion, Workover, NPT, and efficiency KPIs; flag deviations and recommend corrective actions to the Director -Technical Support.
- Support Well Surveillance reviews and contribute to identifying Drilling/Completion performance improvements, risk reduction, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Review relevant sections of investment proposals, AFEs, and technical notes related to Drilling and Completion engineering inputs.
- Ensure all proposed well activities are technically justified, commercially viable, aligned with shareholder KPIs, and compliant with HSE and industry's best practices.
- Coordinate with internal subsurface, production, facilities, and HSE functions to consolidate Dragon Oil's technical position on well design and execution.
- Contribute to Joint studies, well reviews, peer assists, technical audits, and performance evaluations as required.
- Provide structured technical feedback and risk summaries to the Director - Technical Support.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience in Drilling, Completion, and Workover operations and engineering including at least 5 years of Onshore / Offshore experience, including exposure to directional drilling, HPHT wells, and highly deviated well designs.
- Prior experience in shareholder/partner governance roles preferred.
