Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for our San Antonio, Texas office. As part of our design and process teams, you will work on water and wastewater projects, including drinking water/wastewater/reuse treatment facility upgrades, conveyance systems, wellfields, stormwater management, water resources, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, reuse, and infrastructure projects
  • Participation in a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water related infrastructure projects
  • Fieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be required
  • Other responsibilities may include:
    • Client development and management supported by our local offices
    • Planning, organizing, and supervising staff of engineers on projects

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • PE license (or obtain within 6 months of employment)
  • 5-12 years of experience in planning and design of water-related projects
  • Strong interest in the water/wastewater industry
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction management software
  • Capable of supervising staff and managing small projects

Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, Power BI, and databases
