Job Description - Intern ElectricalPower System Engineer
Pieper Electric is lookingfor an entry level electrical engineer to join our growing Arc Flash &Electrical System Studies group. PieperElectric is a leading electrical, mechanical, and automation contractor that isemployee-owned and based in Wisconsin. Pieper Electric is part of a holdingcompany, PPC Partners who provides a wide range of quality services throughoutthe country.
Pieper Electric's Arcflash & Electrical System Studies group performs short circuit, protectivedevice coordination, and arc flash studies for new and existing industrial,commercial, healthcare, and institutional facilities throughout Wisconsin andthe United States.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical power system studies to include short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination studies and arc-flash studies.
Create one-line drawings in the SKM or Easy Power Software with information gathered by our on-site data collectors, or from project one-lines and equipment submittals.
Perform arc flash incident energy analysis, arc flash mitigation, and create arc flash labels
Work with our arc flash specialists and on-site data collectors to complete accurate, turnkey arc flash & electrical system studies.
Perform Peer reviews with others within the department to review the one-line drawings and studies.
Collaborate with the department to ensure accurate and consistent studies
Create final engineering reports, recommendations, and project deliverables
Collaborate with the department and stay up to date on the most recent arc flash mitigation methods, new protective device options, arc flash calculations, and the NFPA-70E standard.
Work environment will be at the New Berlin office, with occasional visits to a jobsite if needed.
Ability to assist with field data verification to obtain the necessary information required to create an accurate model of the electrical system
Willing to travel within Wisconsin or the US if necessary (Any travel will be minimal)

Experience performing electrical power studies and/or arc flash studies the Easy Power or SKM software.
Entry level candidates may be considered if they are willing to be trained to use the Easy Power or SKM Software. Training will be provided by Pieper Electric or a 3rd party.
Knowledge of medium voltage power distribution systems and protection (35kV and below)
Knowledge of common industrial, commercial, and institutional electrical systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
Ability to work independently and be self motivated
Knowledge of AutoCAD (Not a requirement)
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E and IEEE-1584 a plus
Qualifications: Electrical Engineer withskill set and desire to obtain a PE license
Education: Workingtowards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Job Type: Part-Time M-F during school or holidaybreaks. Hours flexible.
Full-time M-F during thesummer when school is out.
