The Whitetail Gas Pipeline II Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of pipeline assets and associated facilities. This role ensures compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures, coordinates with internal teams and third-party contractors, and fosters strong relationships with producers, customers, and landowners.

The Whitetail Gas Pipeline II Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of pipeline assets and associated facilities. This role ensures compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures, coordinates with internal teams and third-party contractors, and fosters strong relationships with producers, customers, and landowners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment at all times.
- Schedule and conduct routine maintenance and operational activities, including visual right-of-way (ROW) patrols, valve maintenance, filter changes, pigging, condensate tank gauging, and glycol dehydrator operations.
- Monitor and inspect pipeline assets regularly, perform facility inspections, document operating conditions such as pressures, temperatures, volumes, and pump rates, and review data to identify operational issues. Utilize Plains SCADAView for monitoring and analysis.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and create work orders for operational issues involving dehydration units, regulators, relief valves, dump valves, actuators, level and pressure controllers, and other pipeline equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with third-party contractors.
- Understand and apply EHS procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and permitting requirements for specific activities.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as leaks or ruptures in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all activities performed.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with the control center regarding all operational activities.
- Remove equipment from service and reinstate as appropriate.
- Support facility housekeeping, site security, and site maintenance.
- Conduct One Calls, line locating, marking, and flagging as required.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with producers, customers, and landowners.
- Perform light and preventive maintenance tasks, including rebuilding glycol pumps (after training) and conducting SPCC inspections.
- Inspect and replace flow orifices as directed (following training).
- Witness and complete meter calibration (following training).
- Troubleshoot measurement issues involving FloBoss and TotalFlow systems (following training).
- Assist with communications troubleshooting and repairs.
- Gather data for monthly measurement balance and reporting.
- Schedule tank bottom pulls and dispatch condensate trucks.
- Visit producer sites (CRP/CDP's) as scheduled.
- Sample H2S and moisture content at producer and delivery lines.
- Maintain inventory of spare equipment and oversee glycol sampling as required.
- Oversee construction work as assigned.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to callouts as needed.
- Assist with crude operations and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Valid US drivers' license with a clean abstract.
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
