This Position reports to:
Health and Safety Manager

Temporary part-time or full-time position depending on the candidate's availability.

The holder of this position is interested in developing their knowledge and skills in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), has strong collaboration skills, and enjoys keeping things organized. They are motivated to work with others and make the workplace safer for everyone through problem-solving and creativity.

The position involves spending a significant amount of time in various production areas and administrative zones to support internal clients in developing best safety practices. Therefore, the candidate must be motivated, independent, organized, and structured.

Working within the Environment, Health, and Safety department, the holder will collaborate closely with the Infrastructure department. They will receive appropriate guidance and support based on their level of expertise.

This role reports directly to the EHS Manager at the Québec site.

Your Role: Take on the Challenge
  • Acts as EHS support;
  • Assists departments in implementing the EHS program and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement;
  • Conducts regular site visits to identify hazards and risks to prevent injuries, spills, or other EHS impacts;
  • Participates in the job safety analysis process;
  • Compiles and reports health and safety data for corporate reports;
  • Supports the organization in managing chemical products;
  • Assists employees with ergonomic-related issues;
  • Collaborates with managers, supervisors, and staff to identify and implement corrective measures following the identification of unsafe behaviors;
  • Develops and distributes communications on EHS-related topics;
  • And many other interesting tasks!


Requirements:
  • Completion of 2 years in a university program in one of the following fields: health and safety, industrial relations, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or completion of 2 years in a technical program related to the field;
  • Excellent command of French and English; French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
  • Asset: skills in industrial hygiene and/or ergonomics;
  • Full-time on-site work with occasional remote work permitted;
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow an action plan and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Client-focused work approach;
  • Flexible attitude regarding work assignments and new learning.
