This position is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in general accounting who are eager to deepen their technical expertise and grow within a global organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and distributing financial reports, journal entries, and reconciliations, while ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and NOV policies. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the NOV Energy Products and Services Segment team to provide and distribute system-generated reports that communicate the financial health of locations and product lines.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, accruals, and allocations.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and review financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports for the EPS team and other business stakeholders.
- Work closely with the EPS Compliance Team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support reporting on capital expenditures, disposals, scrap, and depreciation for Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E).
- Assist in developing and maintaining efficient processes to ensure compliance with accounting regulations, company policies, and reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring smooth and efficient reviews of financial data and controls.
- Maintain organized documentation (e.g., month-end folders, SOX drives) for audit readiness and compliance.
- Provide ad hoc financial and administrative support to EPS Managers and Accounting teams as required.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Few years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA (nice to have)
- Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) (will be an asset)
